open D works nicelyand a normal tuned guitar works well with it if in Drop D.
my slide technique is a bit shit, but my mate has been playing that guitar non-stop for two weeks and has come along really nicely. He's got a really fat glass slide, which seemed crap at first, but is much better than any other I've used.
that guitar sounds incredible with a slide. really warm and rich.
