DareDevil: Visionairies
by Kevin Smith and Frank Miller is acness!

I read an awful lot of the Marvel 'essential' collections which are always good.

Marvel Civil War is also damn fine, and finsh that with The Death of Captain America.

World War Hulk was the last comic book I read and is also damn fine.

Over in the DC universe: The Death of Superman trilogy, Batman: Killing Joke and Death in the family are the only things I've read in the last few years (not a DC fan).

If you're feeling really geeky I highly recommend the Marvel Vault - a comprehensive history of the Marvel Company from the 1930s onwards.
