Well being psychotic means you're mentally ill,so it depends on your definition of "nuts" really.

Psychiatrists would take this lineIf you're psychotic then most conventional thinking would say you need medicating, which I'd say is the definition of being mentally ill - whether you need medication. Of course the concept of needing psychiatric drugs is controversial across society in general.
