They all originated somewhere around Mongoliaand migrated westwards. When they got to the Urals, one group went north, split again into two, and inhabited what is now Finland and Estonia, and the other group went south and ended up in Hungary.
The three languages are similar as a result (they constitute the Finno-Ugric group) and this may be one reason why the Finns traditionally turn up in large numbers to the Budapest GP. The languages are pretty difficult because they're so different. The accent in Hungarian (and possibly Finnish too) is always on the first syllable of the word, which is why it sounds so stilted.
