of animated films(this is drawing on old memories) then it's worth picking up Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (the first one was shit) for an adulty type one, and Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children for the pretty graphics. As for series the only one I really like is Death Note and only up to about episode 25
