Yes, but you need a court order to evict them if they refuse to move.Until you get a court order, it would be illegal to attempt to forcibly remove them or even enter the property, irrespective of the fact it is your property. Court orders take time and cost money.
Plus, a rather worryingly high proportion of squatters will have trashed the place, or at least *ahem* modified it.
