You can here, tooI'm not exactly Ironside, but I think assault is classed as the threat of violence. That can be interpreted as abusive language and threatening behaviour. You can get somebody under civil law for it, I think. Then there's breach of the peace and so on.
I expect the most that'll happen is a word in the ear and maybe an ASBO, but it should embarrass.
