Isn't zinc good for the elasticity of the skin?

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 12:08, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
I've not the faintest idea, it's not my medical field.
Quite possibly. Do you feel you are somehow deficient in zinc?

Let me put it another way. if you were deficient in zinc, believe me, stretch marks would be the least of your problems. Adding more of something you aren't deficient in is not going to help. Especially in the case of zinc, whose only function in the body is as an enzymatic cofactor.

It's like looking a car with a half-full tank of petrol that for some reason won't start, and going "I know - the solution is to put more petrol in"

I only ask as it was recommended to me by my aunt, who claims it helped her.

I don't know your aunt, so would be unfair to absolutely comment without evidence.
was she also suffering from hair loss and nails dropping off? did she die of alcohol poisoning if she had a single glass of wine? If no to all of those, I suspect she wasn't zinc-deficient.
