Advice from Old People
Sometimes, just sometimes, old people say something worth listening to. Ok, so it's like picking the needle out of a whole haystack of mis-remembered war stories, but those gems should be celebrated.
Tell us something worthwhile an old-type person has told you.
Note, we're leaving the definition of old up to you, you smooth-skinned youngsters.

Sort of on topic...
But since when has being on topic been necessary.
The sweetest thing I ever saw was at a very cold and windy train station platform. A very old man was sheltering his very old wife by throwing his arms around her and hugging her tightly whilst she leant back on the station wall.
Still brings a lump to my throat.

I was going to say something along those lines, but thought it might damage the lovely nature of the story in some way...

ahh, old people
oldies love that kinda stuff, at 17 i gave my jacket to a very (possibly anorexic) friend of a friend, as it was freezing and she was in a strapy dress. a group of old men gave me a round of applause as "theres still a gentleman in the world". i was loving it, she appeared to have diverted all blood to her cheeks.

What's really great in cold weather
is to have a cloak, because then you can wrap it around both of you. Makes a very romantic and intimate moment...

@ TRL
Hundreds of years ago before the advent of public loos in cities there were men who had big cloaks that were used as curtains around a bucket (if you were lucky enough to get a bucket) so the ladies could have a pee while out.
Apparently.
I read it somewhere.
