The laws of physics as they're currently understoodaccount for everything that happened after the Planck era (from the supposed beginning of the universe to 10-44 seconds after it.) What happened during or before the Planck era is anyone's guess. Who's to say some incredibly powerful being(s) didn't set it all in motion? Till we understand how everything began, we can only speculate.
