...a friend was telling me that, when wandering round the American capital, he came across a war memorial attributed to "all the people who gave their lives in the Second World War, 1941-1945."
Um...so, when Hitler marched into Poland* in '39**, did that not count as an act of war? Or is it only allowed to be a proper war when you trigger-happy rednecks get involved?
*Well, with an army, obviously. He wouldn't have got quite so far by himself...
