Incidentally, James Randi (I think, dont quote me) came up with a great response to the whole "god's looking after him" thing when a small child was rescued by a firefighter from a swimming pool and the mother was quoted as saying "god saved her". His reponse was "no, the fireman saved her". "Yes but God sent him". No, the emergency dispatch team sent him. And God wanst quite as quick at calling 911 for the other 20 children who'd drowned in swimming pools in that state in the previous 12 months.
