I say this
but it comes from living and working with 'Merkins, I've picked up quite a few of their mannerisms. Though the one that really rankles me is "Do I gotta do this?"

I should point out that any Americans in my proximity tend to pick up a lot of Britishisms too. They even say "fags" for cigarettes these days.

Though I also work with two guys (English and Irish) who have taken this to extremes - they adopt a full-on yank accent when talking to our cousins from across the pond yet speak to me in their "normal" accents, which to me is just bizarre.
