guilty as charged!
In September 1997 I was working in Reading, and had arranged to take a half-day Friday. I had to stay a little later than planned, and only got out around 1PM. Had I left work on time, I would have been on the train that crashed at Southall.

I still get a little kick out of telling that story. To be fair, I always travelled in non-smoking carriage A at the rear of the train, and I don't think that carriage even came off the line. It was the front carriages that came off worst, as did the people in those carriages. 8-(

PS: I was also up the World Trade Centre in 2001... May 2001, so I don't suppose that counts. Oh well, can't win 'em all.
