This is a question Pet Peeves

What makes you angry? Get it off your chest so we can laugh at your impotent rage.

Oh yeh, the escalators at my train station (Leeds), if you have time, just watch them a while,
there's always at least one stupid cunt, and I'm sorry but it's usually a young woman, who will get to the top, and stop. Right there, with 30 people packed behind her, being pushed unstoppably forward towards her back, she'll stop and start to fiddle with her bag or something, and then she'll act all surprised and annoyed if anyone says anything to her, even if it's just 'Excuse love!'.

My reaction was not quite so polite the last time this happened to me.

And while we're on the subject, before you decide to engage the ticket clerk in a long conversation about possible tickets you might possibly purchase one day and whether you can get some kind of discount possibly, look behind you then too, maybe one of us in that rapidly expanding queue might have a fucking train to fucking catch.

Ya cunt.

It gets worse
I saw one stupid cunt at the front of the queue berating the poor clerk because the tickets were too expensive. There's no point haggling mate, so fuck off and stop holding everyone else up.

Haven't these people ever wondered why it's called public transport? Jesus wept.

Where I come from it's not so easy
I regularly buy long distance tickets but as we only have one guy to get tickets from, and the trains come every half hour, even waiting for the train to leave first before going to get the tickets will result in a queue behind me.

There's no other option for me though as that's the nearest station with a ticket office within a gazillion miles. Still feel guilty, but it an not be helped.

I'm not talking about folks who just have to get their annual ticket and it takes a long time, though that is annoying it's not their fault, it's the stations, they should have a separate booth for lengthier interactions, what pisses me off is folks who decide now would be a good time to have long chat about something, regardless of how many folks are waiting behind them.

The other day a young student girl I was unfortunate to get directly in front of me 10 minutes before my train was due (having been to the machines that didn't work and eventually given up and joined the huge queue) went over every detail of a hypothetical ticket she might possibly buy one day, if she might possibly go somewhere far away, and went through every possible scenario, even the likelihood of internet access and what discounts might be available and so on and so on, for a full 5 minutes or more, making me miss my train and need to catch the next one.

She even, once she finally shut the fuck up and got her ticket to Doncaster, which co-incidentally was also where I wanted to be so she'd actually talked her way to missing her train too, then leisurely spent at least another 10-20 seconds thanking the ticket clerk, giggling and sorting out her bags at the front of the queue, by which time I'd had enough and just pushed her bags out my way with my foot and with a very firm 'EXCUSE ME!' made my way to the counter.

Once she'd gone, having given me the filthiest of how very dare you looks of course, while I was waiting for my tickets to print, the bloke behind me gave me a smile and said he wished I'd done that earlier.

Some people are just in a world of their own...
