The reason:
is because they're lazy arrogant tossbags lacking respect for other people due to some false sense of social haughtiness granted to them by their non menial job.

I have respect for cleaners after having been one for a short stint inbetween jobs, you get looked down upon in exactly the same manner people tend to use for retail staff. I've been at the recieving end for both.

Cleaners are genuinely nice people alot of the time, talk to them, especially the ones in the offices, you'll probably like them. At the very least say hello and don't ignore them.
