I'm a bit closer to the equator than you are- the sun is a little more intense. I was also about 4000 feet above sea level.

And, due to a tick bite and resultant Lyme disease, I'm on doxycyclene, which has as one of its side effects the tendency to make your skin VERY sensitive to sunlight. Lovely stuff- sunburns, nausea, general malaise, all in once convenient pill...

Still very glad I went, though.
