You're confusing ignorance with stupidity.

Ignorance is forgiveable, stupidity isn't but should be....

In most cases, ignorance means that you just don't know the rules - nobody''s ever explained them to you.

Stupidity is where you know the rules and you either don't think they apply to you or you just forgot to apply them...
