Pet Names
I once knew a cat called Lenin. It got diarrhea so they renamed it Trotsky. Tell us the name of your pet - but only if you've got an amusing or interesting reason for it. Tiddles need not apply.

Cat Names
Before I was born my parents took in a kitten which was the offspring of a half-feral rescue cat. She was called "Fang". When she later had six kittens of her own, they kept one, she was named "Olga" after the Russian gymnast Olga Korbut.
When I was at school our bearded Scottish English teacher (he was Scottish, taught English), had two cats called "Ethnic Minority*" and "Bastardª", although I gather he had some nicer names for them as well
*due to being black
ªdue to being a "bastard" as all animals technically are
Question to people giving their pets strange names:
Do you feel comfortable calling the cat by that name? Out loud? What about in the street at 3am while the neighbours are listening? What about when a friend or a date asks you what your cat's name is? Do you confidently tell them, or red-faced, shyly admit to the guys at the gun club that he is called "Mr. Snooky"?

What next? Anyone owning a black cat will have to call it "coloured"??
Any all-white cats will be investigated in case they are members of the Kitty Klux Klan?
Just watch out for those alley cats, they are secretly dealing in catnip.

"Due to Racial concerns regarding the term "Coon"
In California there are plans to propose a proposition
to drop the term "Coon" and use a different word for the
name of the breed. The new term will be announced next week."
