This is a question Phobias

What gives you the heebie-jeebies?

It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*

Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

Probably already been mentioned...
but I am proper scared of the dentist. I cannot stand this brutal, barbaric branch of medicine that to me seems to have barely evolved beyond the 17th century. Surely in this day and age there are kinder ways of treating people's teeth.

I'd rather my head fell off than undergo serious dental work.

Rant over. I'm now feeling a little light headed and scared.

Sorry but...
wisdomteethdiary.blogspot.com/
It really wasn't as bad as I'd feared...

Barely evolved?
Try asking for no anasthetic and see how far it's really come... :o)

Stupidly read the wisdom tooth diary during my lunch.
Well I say 'read'. Pretty much just looked at the first few lines felt utter panic forming in the base of my stomach and closed the page.

Really must try and get over this phobia some day.

@brin
Yeah, I can testify that having no anaesthetic is a proper fuckload of pain. Knocked some teeth out some year back, and emergency dentist couldn't (wouldn't?) use any anaesthetic as it would affect the bloodflow round my gums, and cause further long term problems.

So he fixed my 10 year old, bleeding mouth, whilst I grinned and beared it. Fucking hurt though.
