What gives you the heebie-jeebies?

It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*

Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

Spiders
I stayed with some friends in Australia, and they had a daughter who was about 8 years old.

One morning she showed me her ridiculously huge toy rubber spider which was stuck to the wall. "Look Browser!" she exclaimed brightly, "It wants to be your friend!".

I said "well I'd better go and give it a kiss then, hadn't I!".

I gave it a kiss and it ran over my face, through my hair, down my back and out of the room. It was a hunstman spider, real, and the size of a dinner plate.

I got shivers all over me reading that. I used to run a mile from Huntsmen, which is silly really as they are just about the only non poisonous spider in Oz.

My friend from Oz
told me a tale of a huntsman. She hit it with a broom and it exploded in a cloud of babies, then ran off and hid in her newborn babies room.

They're massive and can give you a fair nip, but aren't poisonous, apparently, as if it makes them less horrific.

who gazzed me recently with just this information, Huntsmen are not poisonous as such, but some people are allergic to their bite/sting/whatever, which can cause serious problems. A bit like being allergic to bee or wasp stings, I'd imagine.

Or peanuts.
