I don't get this attitudeFirstly because a lot of victims of crime won't contact police after a mugging or a burglary (unless they need a crime number for the insurance) because of the perception that nothing will be done.
Secondly if someone has been harassed by police or pcsos for, say, photography and are told "I bet you would be the first to call 999 if you got burgled" surely the correct is response "yes, yes I would, because I want them to be investigating burglaries - the thing they are supposed to do, not having a go at people for taking pictures of cathedrals - the thing they are very much not supposed to do"
It's like if my boss had a go at me for playing pacman at work and I said "well you'd be the first one to come to me if you wanted someone to update the server"
