This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

How has PC affected you? (Please add your own tales - not five-year-old news stories cut-and-pasted from other websites)

It was maybe on here
but I read a story recently about an American visiting the UK who described a local black guy to her kid as an English African-American.

Presumably she asked him for directions to Loogabarooga too.

I had an ex who referred to every black person as "Jamaican"
It used to really do my head in, but she couldn't see that they might not be from Jamaica O_o

I have heard someone say this!
Well nearly;
I used to work for an opticians that sold 'made to measure' glasses. One thing they had was different shaped nose pieces. This is a real help because most frames are designed for white noses and it can be really tricky to fit them for black and Chinese noses.
I digress, when I was being shown how to measure for these specs I was told that 'this size is best for African Americans'. I got a funny look when I asked what we were supposed to give to English black guys.
