This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

How has PC affected you? (Please add your own tales - not five-year-old news stories cut-and-pasted from other websites)

How To Reduce An Entire Department To Hysterics... (2)
Oh the joys of the English language....

It's not often I read The Sun but when someone leaves it open at a page telling the tale of a wheelchair called The Spazz then it's worth a look.

It gets better though. The makers of The Spazz have another model, The Spazz-G. The blurb for that is slightly lacking in taste.

E-mailed those images to the department. Cue 20 minutes of 15 people reduced to helpless hysteria.

If I end up in a wheelchair (which is quite probable as I have been in one before) then I want it to be a Spazz!

That is...
...absolutely fucking brilliant.

That's hilarious
Particularly as they seem to rule out any connection between the American usage ('wild and crazy') and the British usage... Do companies not hired people to check these things?

Oh. we know...
We know perfectly well what spazz means. We say, "Don't spazz out" all the time--"He's a spazz", Spazzy retard" "Don't have a spazz" Look, it's Spazzman" "Spazzoid" etc. We never use the the word spastic for palsy or crippled, that's a gimp. A spazz is mentally challenged and there are plenty in wheelchairs. Naming a wheelchair model "Spazz' is such as much of a gaffe here as it is there. Those clowns are pulling your leg.
