This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

How has PC affected you? (Please add your own tales - not five-year-old news stories cut-and-pasted from other websites)

"HATE CRIME!"
That phrase alone makes me want to hit someone..

But I generally reserve my rage for people who walk too slowly on pavements

and golfers.

And volvo-Drivers.

And the ass-hats at work who insist on buying into the new Management Fad.

And Pig-Ignorant tossers who come out with phrases like "hur hur hur, I only like blondes"

And people who get offensive when drunk.

And people who don't know when to stop drinking and spue on my doorstep.

The list goes on.

All of this ^^^^
and people who find it necessary to wear hats when driving.

(crash helmets excepted)

and...
people who find it necessary to wear a full hijab balaclava when driving

/EDIT OK, a little research suggests I should make that "... wear a Niqab veil when driving"

^^^ WTF?
What's wrong with wearing a headscarf/Hijab while driving, Esp if your religion requires it.. ?

I hope it's not too Non-PC to label you as an Ignorant Prick?

EDIT: I'll get my head out of my arse shall I? =)
When I think "hijab" I see an open-faced head-scarf... not a full-faced set of blinkers.

Let's add people with blacked out rear windows too then... I rekon that being able to see *though* the car infront is an added safety feature...

Hijab
To be fair, the whole Hijab while driving thing is one of the errrm good reasons given by the Saudi authorities when asked why women are not permitted to drive in KSA. Not that the Muttawa would hit them with big sticks or anything. Or get them banged up without trial, tortured and publically flogged. It's a safety thing. Obviously.

(And he did say full Hijab not headscarf)

Yes
It's a safety thing. I have no objection at all with people wearing them otherwise.

How can someone drive safely with tunnel vision?
(, Fri 23 Nov 2007, 14:32, closed)
please can you add this to the list
People who elbow me in the head because I'm only 5'2"

thankyou :P
(, Fri 23 Nov 2007, 14:49, closed)
Tunnel Vision?
Absolutely. Just ask Diana...

(sorry, the voices made me do that)

Pedantry
Isn't the full face veil the niqab, not the hijab? Or have I just made an hilaaaaaarious blunder?
(, Fri 23 Nov 2007, 16:01, closed)
Enzyme
you may well be right.

When should they stop drinking and spew on your doorstep then?
I'd add to the list:

People driving 25mph in a 30mph zone.

Slow old ladies deciding to do their shopping during lunch hour, instead of some other time that isn't the only opportunity most office workers have to pick up some essentials.

Big Issue sellers wearing trainers that cost more than every item of clothing I'm wearing put together.

The man who patrols the shopping street with a Bible quote placcard, right across the road from a cathedral (ffs, if I wanted God, I could just go in there!)

But above all, I'll reserve my deepest hatred for the fuckers who stole my motorcycle!
