This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

the golden compass
why would you bother to make a film based on a book critiquing religion and then remove all of the references to god in it?

because
big film studios prefer to be able to sell their films to all markets to maximise profit

what is amusing is the false pretense that people will buy the books under having seen the film. think of all the outraged religious types!

And what's with the changeing of the title, it's not even a compass, it's an aleithiometer!
