Weirdly, my mum, who is a retired teacher, and one of those people who's REALLY irritating about grammar
- you know - the sort who will correct you:
"I was sat over there ... "
"sitting"
has recently discovered texting, and uses text-speak all the time. Still doesn't get the LOL not meaning Lots Of Love, though.
"Hi V bn 2 c jenny hr cancer is bak lol m"

You can say "I was sat over there".
It is grammatically correct... if someone actually directed you to sit over there...
