Weirdly, my mum, who is a retired teacher, and one of those people who's REALLY irritating about grammar- you know - the sort who will correct you:
"I was sat over there ... "
"sitting"
has recently discovered texting, and uses text-speak all the time. Still doesn't get the LOL not meaning Lots Of Love, though.

You can say "I was sat over there".It is grammatically correct... if someone actually directed you to sit over there...
