Exactly one month ago,
I chucked Coke all over my laptop keyboard.
I popped off all the keys, and brushed out the brown goo with an old tooth brush and some Windex.
In the process, i broke the colon-slash key (the electronic contact underneath actually) and vowed to bring it into the shop to replace the keyboard the next day.

One month on, still haven't gotten off my arse and brought it in, still copypasting all my : and /.

I did similar the other week
So I unplugged the keyboard (important bit that), ran it under the cold tap for a while, then left it out in the garden for a few days (couldn't be bothered to go fetch it in), let it drain for a week, plugged it in - presto! good as new.

EDIT: Just read the laptop bit so not really something you could do I guess...

same problem
been copying and pasting "z" for the last six month now. I can't be bothered to take it in to get it repaired.

It has expanded my vocabluary though as I become forced to use words with no z in them.

I just checked both pooters in my office and we have ;: on one key and /? on another.

I don't know why but this is confusing me no end.

Or did you break 2 keys?
