The only way I can begin to justify the vast amount of money they make is to look at the extremes.By scoring goals and helping their team win leagues/trophies Rooney and Drogba are making millions of pounds in prize money, attracting sponsorship etc. When was the last time you made millions for your company on a Sunday afternoon?
(For the record, this doesn't justify the atrocious amount they earn, it just helps me kid myself into thinking maybe its not that absurd)

Maybe......but some Premiership teams are spending over 100% of the years takings on transfers. It's being funded by Russian sugar daddys and isn't sustainable.
