Protest!
Sit-ins. Walk-outs. Smashing up the headquarters of a major political party. Chaining yourself to the railings outside your local sweet shop because they changed Marathons to Snickers. How have you stuck it to The Man?

God, I'm going through the exact same thing. I spent last Friday thinking of things for my girlfriend's birthday which is coming up in a few weeks. She loves the game Little Big Planet, so I thought "I'll get her a Sackboy soft toy". I also looked at activities e.g. Sphering, which I thought she'd enjoy.
I went into town with her the next day, she saw a Sackboy and said "Oh look: a Sackboy! I want one of those, I'm going to buy it". *agh* Then we went into the next shop where they had those cardboard boxes with activity days, magazines subs etc. She went straight up to the Sphering box and said "Oh I really want to do this!". *facepalm*
I should be glad we're on the same wavelength and that she'll love her presents; but I want them to be a surprise, and it's frustrating that she'll think I only got them because she mentioned it, not that I'd thought of them myself! Magh!
She's been mentioning that she wants a camcorder to do a blog, so I've bought her one as a surprise. But I'm stressing that she'll buy one herself in the meantime! I keep telling her just not to buy anything for herself for three weeks...
Who knew that buying presents for your loved ones could be so frustrating and stressful. Especially when you're buying the right things.
