This is a question Public Transport Trauma

Completely Underwhelmed writes, "I was on a bus the other day when a man got on wearing shorts, over what looked like greeny grey leggings. Then the stench hit me. The 'leggings' were a mass of open wounds, crusted with greenish solidified pus that flaked off in bits as he moved."

What's the worst public transport experience you've ever had?

Paris in the Summer
German tourists everywhere. Everywhere but the showers of their hotels, it seems. Hot summer days. Crowded trains. Crowded trains full of unwashed, loudly talking Germans, seemingly always accompanied by herds of small blond children. No, we'll wait for the next train. . .okay, maybe the one after this. . .shit, we're going to be here all night, aren't we?

All. Fucking. Summer. Long.

Me and my family were in Paris in August once.
Fcuking hot it was. Don't know about the Germans, but it was full of Asian tourists.

Polite but picture-happy
We ran into a large group of Japanese tourists once on a school trip; despite us not wearing cute uniforms or the like, they proceeded to take pictures of our class as if we were part of the exhibit. I often wonder what they say when it comes time for that picture in the inevitable holiday snaps show-off. 'Look! A random assortment of totally ordinary French schoolchildren!'
