I feel for youI work in insurance and see this kind of thing nearly every day.
No doubt she will say your wife swerved into her lane and without any independent witness evidence, she may find she has to accept a 50/50 settlement.
But if this other girl's young and not very knowledgeable, you may find that she cracks if your wife sticks to her guns.

Much obligedMany thanks for the advice. Pretty much everyone agrees it's her fault, except her. Is there any leverage I can get from the rozzers, or even try to prosecute her for reckless endangerment or somesuch? I did actually feel sorry for her until she started telling fibs. Grrrrrr.
