To be fair
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep was a short story, not a novel, so less room for character development. Doesn't make the film any less iconic, though. I also thought The Godfather as a novel could easily hold its own.

@DOZ-One - The shining was a better book than it was a film.
The film is great but you get a lot of the backstory which explains a lot more background about Jack Torrance in the book.
