Congratulations on hitting the wrong reply button.
I grew up with "gay" being used as a pejorative term, used to accuse someone of being homosexual. I'm all for words being reclaimed, by I'm less happy about them slipping into casual usage whilst retaining their negative conotations.
With a bit of luck, "gay" will drop out of fashion, much like "dutch" has long since done so.
