This is a question Relief

Last week, I thought we'd run over and killed something. After steeling myself to get out and find the body of somebody's beloved pet, I found we'd squished a bin bag. When has something turned out not as grim as you first thought?

Nicked off a fb feed.
Debian is the wise older relative of the Linux family, it's stable, it takes its time, and it tries to be helpful without holding your hand too much. Fedora is the cool cousin, it always has a new style every 6 months, it's fairly popular but not so much that it loses its individuality, its the trendy but educated relative. Then there's Ubuntu...Ubuntu was beaten over the head with a boat oar until it was declared legally retarded, all it wants is someone to love it but at the same time it just keeps eating and gathering new features until it becomes so bloated that it doesn't want to look at itself in a mirror.

If Debian is the wise older relative what does that make Slackware?

Slackware is the uncle that is very educated and let's you do what you want; assuming you don't want him to do it for you.

Slackware is the uncle that claims to be very educated but doesn't understand how to use an apostrophe.

I like that.
I seem to be slacking too much to use Slackware as my main distro at the moment though -- Alanis would call that "ironic".

2.5 Morrisettes.
Man my 'buntu box's psu shit itself about 3 weeks ago. I've got a replacement - testament to how hot the weather is that I can't even cba getting under the desk to move it and swap them out.
Yet it took me nearly halfa of fucking around with xorg and nvidia drivers to get my 2 monitors (1 is portrait) setup on this setup! Which is porabaly about 3 times how long it would take me to open the other box, swap psu's and be back up & running.

Now that Locus213 is fucking nerdy.
