Last week, I thought we'd run over and killed something. After steeling myself to get out and find the body of somebody's beloved pet, I found we'd squished a bin bag. When has something turned out not as grim as you first thought?

I once got utterly hammered,
and was adamant that I had double-vision out of each eye (that is, I would see double even with one eye closed). My companions were rather insistent that I was talking bollocks, but I was having none of it (unless "it" was either more booze, or something to be sick in).

Its actually possible to have double vision with one eye - caused by eyestrain having odd effects on the optic nerve. I've had this argument with my optician..
