Question of the Week suggestions
Each week we ask a question. The idea is to generate material that's:
* interesting to read, i.e. we won't get bored of reading the answers after about 10 of them
* not been asked on this site before
* fun to answer
What would you like to ask? (We've left this question open - so feel free to drop in ideas anytime.)

The one and only time
I went gliding, I was treated to a winch launch. For the uninitiated, this involves being strapped into a very small, flimsy cockpit wearing a parachute (though you're told that if anything goes wrong, you won't have time to use it) before being flung 1200ft up in about 20 seconds.
I was beating desperately on the sides of the cockpit as we went up.
It didn't occur to me to think what would have happened had I got out...
