This is a question Racist grandparents

It Came From Planet Aylia says: "My husband's mad Auntie Joan accused the man seven doors down of stealing her milk as he was the first black neighbour she had. She doesn't even get her milk delivered." Tell us about casual racism from oldies.

Thanks to Brayn Dedd who suggested this too

My grandad had a black labrador
I adored this dog and used to take him to the park for a run.

When it was time to go and I had to call him, I amended the first letter of his name from an "N", so I used to shout "DIGGER!".

The same name as the dog of Guy Gibson VC, and the Dambusters codeword!
I have always wanted a black lab withthat name, but I think 'Nicker' on the collar might be safest!

Its totally bizarre
how we put arbitrary power in random words. The word 'nigger' is supposed to be the epitome of what you cannot say on television.
Yet I can buy Enid Blyton's Lesser Works of Racism - The Magic Faraway Tree - and read to my children about how Dick and Fanny have fun in the woods with strangers.
