Cancer?
A few old people have difficulties adapting to a modern world? I hardly think that's the inherent downfall of society. Let us not forget that these are the same people brought up on the dregs of Empiricism, where treating Johnny Foreigner with suspicion was only right and normal. Those that fought the war, where it was very much a case of hate foreigners or be killed by them.

Yes, it's unfortunate to our eyes, but the word 'nigger' was very much socially acceptable less than 30 years ago. Why we have to make a QOTW out of it, though, and let a lot of unpleasantness stir to the surface, is beyond me.

You're twisting the argument
I'm not denying that racism exists, and I find it every bit as repugnant as you do.

But that is not the subject of this QOTW. As far as I can tell, the only objective this week is to get a cheap laugh out of outmoded opinions which I would prefer weren't shared.

As a complete aside, it's also interesting how few people seem to understand the difference between racism (forming a stereotypical view of a race or nationality and spreading it laterally), apartheid, and use of inflammatory language. The word 'nigger' on its own, whoever uses it, is not racism.
