I get this with conversations too...... we will be taking about one thing and then she will throw in some random question or statement about something entirely different without any hint as to the new topic of conversation. Typical conversation goes thus...
Mrs Ugi: "So I thought I might have a main meal at work today since we are both working late. We can have some noodles or something when we get in. Oh and did you deal with that form?"
Me: ??????
