This is a question Road Trip

Gather round the fire and share stories of epic travels. Remember this is about the voyage, not what happened when you got there. Any of that shite and you're going in the fire.

I walked 11 miles home from the pub.
I played timetable chicken with the last train, and lost. I didn't have enough money for a taxi, no cards on me, and none of the taxi drivers would take the word of a drunken train-missing idiot promishing to pay them at the deshtination, honesht.

So I walked home, 11 miles away. It took me somewhere between two-and-a-half and three hours to do it. I was sober by the time I reached home, my feet were in agony, but I was astonishingly relaxed and calm. And very, very tired. I slept until noon.

Stilettos are very bad on the ankles, especially on long walks.

hairy bloke in stilettos
On a mate's stag night we grabbed him, dressed him in a basque and stilettos, applied make-up (badly) and threw him into the crowded post-club street. Two policemen were strolling past as this was going on, and one looked at the hairy bloke in stilettos & lace and said to the other, "I would".

I used to walk 16 miles home EVERY
Friday or Saturday night as the taxi money was always spent on 'just one more' to get dropped off a bit further from home, which became further and further away til I had about 2 quid on me which was always enough for a can or two just as the Asian shops were opening up on my walk home as I neared my destination.
