Schadenfreude
There's nothing like administering first aid to cyclist who has just spanged into the back of a milk float when you have tears of laughter running down your face. The world is just one long episode of You've Been Framed - when have you laughed at the misfortune of others?

more from the norwich to liverpool train service
i watched the man at the table opposite mine drink 8 cans of lager. then he answered his phone and started rambling on about going to a job interview in liverpool. i did not think he would get the job if he turned up that drunk. then when he got off at nottingham and looked around him really confused, i knew with complete certainty that he would not get the job.

I've noticed
that both stories contained drunks.
I'm guessing that route is rife with them? Or am I being a naive southern fairy-bloke?

I shall be
On this route on my way back to the spawning ground today, and I have every intention of glugging many cans of 'bow on the way. This is because these trains are almost universally packed, shit and foul-smelling- whereas 'bow is nice and refreshing.

Did he not realise
that traditionally, cans of beer are for after the interview rather than before? No objection to drinking them on the train, though, as I have done so myself on many an occasion*.
*Not eight at once, though
