Hmm. I think I'd want the exhibit removed
on the grounds that "transcripts of messages" are about as far away from art as you can get. If it were the originals at least they could say they were "created".
As for the lack of democracy I'm afraid that the reality is that if you can get yourself in charge of something then you get to make the rules, openly or surreptitiously.
