I've tried both, I recommend neither, however cheap crappy hair gel, now you're talking!Also at a push, condom friendly anal lube equally makes a decent hair styling product. No really. When I had a Mohawk n would stay over at friends a lot I always packed a one serving lube sachet in my wallet for the mornings.
