This is a question Your first cigarette

To be honest, inhaling the fumes from some burning leaves isn't the most natural thing in the world.
Tell us about the first time. Where, when, and who were you trying to show off to?

Or, if you've never tried a cigarette, tell us something interesting on the subject of smoking.

Personally, I've never ever smoked a cigarette. Lung damage from pneumonia put me off.

I'm one of those people smokers really hate.
I've been known to pick up the habit in times of great stress and buy a couple of packs and smoke for about a week or two until the stress wears down. Then, when I have smoked the last one from the pack, I quit for the next few months- or maybe the next few years.

Smoking has never really had that strong a hold on me.

Letting other smokers know this tends to make them VERY snarky.

Just an odd thing isn't it
Some people just get addicted more easily than others, myself I can smoke whenever I want, and then just stop completely.

Yeah...
My ex wife and I quit smoking at the same time when we were in our twenties. When we separated she took it up again and apparently was huffing up quite a cloud for a while there. Now I think she's scaled back on it, at least, but I'm pretty sure she's just gotten sneakier about hiding it.

Let's see... it's been probably about four months now since I last bought a pack. I've bummed the odd one or two since, but not often enough to mention.

Some refer to me as a chipper. Others refer to me as "one of those assholes".

Yeah, I do this.
I went to boarding school: as soon as we were dropped off on the first day of term, it'd be off down the bike sheds for a few fags, then smoking like a chimney every day all term.

Then I'd go home for the holidays for a month or two (depending on the time of year), not smoke at all, and never feel any need to. Unlike my friends, who'd be smoking at home, getting caught by their parents, and regularly grounded.

I too seem to have this ablity
Its useful. Although sometimes in the middle of quitting I get drunk and forget I'm not supposed to be smoking.
