Che Grimsdale writes: Now that Simon Cowell's stolen Everybody Hurts, tell us about songs that mean something to you - good, bad, funny or tragic, appropriate or totally inappropriate songs that were playing at key times.

one song that can always cheer me up and give me that fuzzy-back-of-the-head feeling is E.L.O's Mr. Blue Sky. i always listen to music when i'm doing the housework and that's always the first song i play. it's just an instant pick-me-up.
on a slightly heavier note, i love to listen to Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain during thunderstorms. the music seems to fit the raw power of the storm perfectly.

that you're not human if you don't like Mr Blue Sky on some level. It's like a soul detector or something.
Christ, I can see this being a bad QOTW for me making a tit of myself with emo ramblings.

Was the 'end of ceremony' song at my wedding.
Me and the missus had just been declared man and wife, and there's this bit at the end of the verse in the song, where the drummer hits a cowbell or some tingy percussion instrument four times.
And in full view of the collected family and friends, during this 'ting!ting!ting!ting!' - I gently slapped my new wife's bum in time.
FYI - The walking down the aisle music was 'Ladies and Gentlemen We're Floating In Space' by Spiritualized, and the signing of the register music was 'Heroes...' by Bowie. And now anyone who was at my wedding who is now reading this, knows exactly who I am...
