Bad Taste Blondie
Christmas 2004.
I was in Germany not far from Dresden.
Local radio station, which mainly played Schlager & 80's songs, were (from what I could understand) going on about the Tsunami in Sri Lanka just after it had happened.
A quick sports bit then they played The Tide is High by Blondie.
My other half & I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

I remember the Manics did a benefit gig for that particular natural disaster
At the time I did wonder if they included Tsunami in their set. I was chastised for such a poor taste joke when it was in fact a genuine question.

Nope
the most recognised version was by Blondie, but was a cover version itself. Can't remember who did the original.
