Random?
I flew to Germany a couple of years ago and as we came in for the final approach, wings dipped low over the Dresden skyline, my ipod, set firmly on 'shuffle all songs', decided from the 5,560 tracks available to launch into a stirring rendition of the Dam Busters Theme.

If I'd had speakers I would have broadcast it to the entire plane.

Click
A click for thinking of doing something we did as me and my mates crossed the border into Germany by car - stereo blaring and windows down.

We did stop though playing them though when we pulled into the concentration camp. In fact we stopped all songs because we couldn't think of one to play that would be appropriate (David Bowies - Ashes to Ashes for example).

A colleage of mine...
... has a father who used to operate the radios in a Halifax bomber in WW2.

Mike: a regular flier and working a bit of his time in Germany would tell his dad "I'm flying to Stuttgart on Monday" and regularly get replies like "look out for the flak over Köln and Frankfurt son, those bastards are good"

Great Escape as ringtone
Phone rings whilst going through the scanner at Duesseldorf... much mirth from the fellow Brits and puzzlement from the locals.
