Pffftttt..."I nearly SLIT MY WRISTS LAST NIGHT"... so that'll be "I didn't slit my wrists", then. Just like I nearly spontaneously combusted... but didn't.
I did once know someone who publicly announced that he'd had enough and was now going to go to kill himself, and stormed off with a knife. The rest of the group looked stunned for a moment - before running after him, concerned that he wouldn't know how to do it properly.
