This is a question Amazing displays of ignorance

Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

fire escape
in college everyone used to always use the side fire escape as the entrance/exit as it was closer to the main gate to leave campus. one day this was majorly choked due to loads of people trying to travel both directions through one door out of a double door. cue me taking one look at this pile up and openening up the second door. clearing the blockage

you'd seem smarter if you hadn't said "queue me..."

haha.
Although, he's got a point. almost all of the bloody students here do that. I swear, it riles the fuck out of me.

yeah, I've seen it myself
the ones who think about it assume that if the door could be opened it would be, and there are those who don't want to look like a twat trying to open a potentially locked door.

They all open.
Believe me. My mates used to run and push me through the closed door. Worked like a dream and I fell for it often.

I often do this
And am only rarely thwarted due to the second door being locked.

Yup, me too
For some reason it seems very common in shopping centres - one door is already open, so people file through that rather than try pushing/pulling the other door. 99 times out of 100 it's not unlocked, just not already opened by someone else.
